Yachting SA acknowledges the achievements of these South Australian sailors with Champions Medallions.  These will be presented at the Annual Dinner at the Cruising Yacht Club on Friday 6 August 2003.

Selection criteria for the Yachting SA – Champions Medallion

1. There shall be boats from at least two States competing in the Championship Regatta

2. Medals for Open Classes shall only be awarded to SA boats that are placed 3rd or better

3. Medals for youth Classes shall only be awarded to SA boats that are placed 5th or better

4. A maximum of 3 medals will be awarded to sailors in any one class

5. The number of boats in the regatta fleet is divided by 12 to determine the number of placings to which medals may be awarded in that class. (The results is rounded up only if it is greater than .75). eg 25 boats divided by 12 = 2.08. Medals will be awarded to boats placing 1st and 2nd only and a boat placed third would not be eligible.

6. Other medallions may be awarded at the discretion of the Board of Yachting SA

Note that Laser and Laser Radial are considered as two separate classes and the same interpretation applies for sloop and cat rigged catamaran divisions.

Please notify Yachting SA by email immediately following your Championship Regatta of any of your Club/Class sailors who may qualify for a medallion.
